Q Are you a professional writer? How many of your books have been published so far?

Honestly speaking, writing was my hobby for a very long time. I have participated in several writing competitions. Then my hobby became my profession.  I decided to publish my first book. Now, I am a writer by profession. Recently I have published my first book, “A Cup of Rainbow: Shades of Life”, which is a collection of my writings. It is now available on Amazon Kindle. Here is the link: https://www.amazon.in/dp/B091CBZBRB/

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Q What is your specific field of writing? Are there any specific reasons for choosing this particular field?

Honestly, at present, I have no specific field for writing. I believe that writing is an open field, just like a blank paper.  It is up to one’s mind and thought, on which topic the person wants to write.

----------------------------------------------------------

Q  Do you recommend the writing of books jointly? In your opinion, what are the areas of benefits & problems, in such joint ventures?

In my opinion, a joint venture in writing a book is helpful, since it divides and amazingly reduces the pressure and the efforts involved. As long as the things go smoothly, without any obstacles and misunderstanding with the fellow writer, and/or if the same can be resolved amicably by mutual discussions, there is nothing against in resorting to this method.

----------------------------------------------------------

Q When & how do you get the ideas & do you record them immediately somewhere?

My writing depends a lot, on my mood and the surrounding environment. I pick up incidents from the real life and/or the people around me. Further, as and when, I get an idea of a theme or stuff that should be presented to the people, in that case, I immediately write it down, in my diary.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Q Besides the quality of writing, in your opinion, what are the other factors for the success of a book?

Of course, the quality of writing plays a major role in the success of a book.  In my opinion, the concept of the book and the exact message, the book is giving to the readers, affect the path of the success of the book. Another important factor is the presentation viz. the way the book is being presented to the readers, which includes the design of the cover of the book. Equally important is the relatability factor, which means the extent to which, the readers relate to the theme/characters of the book.

---------------------------------------------------------

Q Which aspects motivate you to write books? Earning money/publicity/helping readers/self-satisfaction/others? In your opinion, is there adequate scope for name/fame/wealth in the field of writing?

For sure, in my case, it is self-satisfaction. We all know that words are very powerful and they can change the lives of the people. Accordingly, I want to spread my words to the people and feel satisfied. Writers have always played an important role and performed a great responsibility in changing this world for the better. In Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna says that  “Karm karo, fal ki chinta mat karo”, which means that we should do the required work, but not worry about the results or the returns. We should execute more and expect less. Sooner or later, we will receive what we deserve.

---------------------------------------------------------

Q If you were not a writer, in what other way, you would have expressed your creativity?

In my free time, I have engaged myself in drawing and painting. If I would not have gone in the field of writing, I might have picked up the brushes and the canvas to express my creativity.  We never know, as it is possible that in the future, I might start that also, in addition.

--------------------------------------------------------

Q Have your family members and friends helped and/or contributed in any way, in your writing career?

Yes, my family is my biggest support and I have always received proper guidance to choose the right path.

--------------------------------------------------------

Q What is your opinion about e-books? Due to this concept of e-books, is the survival of printed books in future in jeopardy?

We should be grateful for the concept of the e-books, through which we, the book-lovers, now have access to thousands of books on our phones and other devices. E-books are reasonable in price and are easy to carry. In a single device, we can have a large number of books. Despite all these benefits, the smell of pages is something special and the magic of printed books will never fade away. E-books are the need of the changing times, but printed books are, and will remain, evergreen. ALWAYS.

----------------------------------------------------------

Q What are your future plans for writing books?

At present, I am working on some projects and I hope that these  will crystallize soon, and see the light of the day.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Q What is your advice to the budding authors?

In my opinion, a new writer must have faith in himself, have his own style, have trust in his writings and allow his words to flow on paper. He should also write, read and write and continue to write and the success will not be far away.
